Ok so Gramm came home with a questionnaire on how technology has - TopicsExpress

Ok so Gramm came home with a questionnaire on how technology has changed over the years and he has to interview 2 people over 30. When the instructions read include as much information as possible you will probably never guess who I thought of!!!! So in honor of all of you who love Johnnys FaceBook statuses, here we go.... Name: John Adam Simon; Age: 61 years old: Occupation: Offshore Installation Manager on an offshore drilling rig working overseas. What technological changes have taken place in your lifetime? (1) Telephones have gone from a stationary rotary dial telephone that received a signal through a wire into your house to very mobile telephones that can receive a signal from a satellite in outer space. (2) To look up information we used to have to go to the library and use encyclopedias to computers that brings a vast amount of information to a monitor or cell phone anywhere you happen to be. (3) MRI and Catscan machines that can see through the human body to help diagnose illness or injury with clarity so that doctors know how to treat us better. How have these changes made a difference in your life? (1) I now have a cell phone so that I can keep in touch with family or make emergency calls when I am away from home. (2) I use a computer at work to research information and also to contact companies that sell parts to repair the equipment on my drilling rig to keep it operating efficiently. (3) Improved medical evaluations and treatments will hopefully help me to live longer and enjoy being around my children, grandchildren, and great grand children for many years to come. How has technology changed in school since you were in the 7th grade? (1) When I was in the 7th grade we only had books to learn from and today you have computers in many classrooms to help the teachers present information to you for learning. (2) When I was in the 7th grade we did not have air conditioners anywhere in the school because they were too expensive and since technology has made air conditioners more efficient and cheaper to operate all schools are cooler. (3) Teachers did not have to worry about us using a cell phone during class and now they do have to monitor kids for breaking this rule. I hope these answers will help you to turn in a worthy assignment Gramm. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to take part in something that will help in your school work. I Love You, Grandpa / Dad / Johnny...
