Ok so I heard the other day about the 12yr old who shot a male math teacher as the math teacher was heroically protecting students from this kid who was upset over being bullied AND now I hear about this 14yr old who killed his 24yr old female math teacher with a box cutter in the bathroom of his HS!!! i pray Dear Lord that my children are never EVER drawn into such a dark place that they feel they must take another life or their own. Its obviously so sad for the victims but these are KIDS! They arent 18, 20, 25...they are very very young to be committing murder! Its very sad that these kids were drawn to such measures. Is social media/easy internet access to blame? I mean they can practically watch, play, oder, look up anything or how to do anything all at their fingertips. Everyone knows everything they think and feel or that someone else thinks and feels about them because they all put it on facebook, twitter,etc. They dont have the maturity to deal with all of this at such a young age. The pressure, the over stimulation, the gossip, the bragging, the put downs, the sarcasm, the violent games, etc. (Gees this doesnt even include the possibility of early drug abuse.) Meanwhile the parents are busy on FB, twitter, texting, volunteering, working, trying to stay involved and keep up, carpooling, etc...we are all so checked out at times & in auto pilot and possibly not doing enough checking in. Im not saying theres not possibly more to it such as a psychological issue but we all as parents have just got to wake up! I speak this as much to myself! Guilty at times indeed. All I know is the devil came to kill, steal, and destroy... he will use modern technology to do it too. So I will just say this...if you arent pleading the blood of Jesus over your children and the children surrounding them daily...DO NOT DELAY...PLEASE START!!!
