Ok, so Ive lived in my apartment for just over two years now. In the course of that two years, my upstairs neighbor has consistently made so much noise that weve lovingly nicknamed her the stomper. It sounds like she is moving heavy furniture, in heels, with her family of pet elephants, while bowling.....daily. She vacuums at odd hours and when she does it sounds like Armageddon is happening. She showers and blow dries her hair in the wee hours of the morning, like 2 or 3 am! When she goes up the stairs to her apartment, my windows rattle and my cats freeze in terror. The funny thing about this is that its just one small woman. The family that lives upstairs next to her doesnt make even a fraction of the noise she does. Every time I see this woman she looks angry. Ive said hello on several occasions and ONCE I got a pained half-smile back. She seems very malcontent. I write this because Ive had a very rare day off and shes been stomping around all day and from what I can tell, doing some kind of work with a power saw (no joke!).....and maybe practicing a routine with a marching band.....has anyone had any experience with unhappy, loud, upstairs neighbors? How can I get her to cut back on the noise? I dont think the friend angle will work since she wont even say hello back to me...any advice would be helpful as I would like to know when the REAL Armageddon actually happens and fear that one day her and her stomping elephants will come falling through my ceiling.
