Ok, so a couple weeks ago I started to notice that our towels....wellll...lets just say they werent exactly fresh and clean after being washed. I was literally about to go buy a new set! But I did a quick Google search and I am SHOCKED at 1)how great my towels smell NOW and 2) how gross they were before. Lol. So here is what I did......dumped 1 cup of vinegar into my washer and filled it with my towels then ran it on the HOTTEST wash possible. Now some sources say that if the funk is gone you can just dry as usual and call it good. My towels did smell CONSIDERABLY better...but I decided to take the next step too. Which was to drop 3/4 cup of baking soda into the towels and run another SUPER HOT wash. I then dried them as usual and they smell BRAND NEW!!! I guess this is kind of like stripping cloth diapers when they stop being absorbent...not sure why I didnt think about detergent building up on bath towels too. So there you have it...if your towels have a funk (oh come on, Ive been to other peoples houses and KNOW Im not alone), try these two simple steps!! You are WELCOME!
