Ok so, my conversation with Samuel L. Jackson was so cool. He, like me, hustled his way to the top. Said he did negro theatre shows and took ANY job he could to fund his career (even played in some bands in Tennessee back in the day). His hard work paid off just like mine is starting to do. Back in the day you could see him at little box theatre companies in plays for FREE. Today you can see him in The Avengers, UnBreakable, and the NEW Robocop for a fee. (isnt popcorn 81$ now?) I told him how I lived in my car and worked every bar from Nova Scotia to San Diego and in the beginning I couldnt get into any comedy club… but never gave up.. Then i told him how I rode in an all black Cadillac to the airport with a professional body guard/driver and did not once think about my dirty Honda Fit with almost 300,000 miles. He laughed. Hes never seen that many miles on a car. Im proud of EVERY one of those miles… It amazes me how the people who work for every little thing appreciate so much. He and I were both raised very poor. I told him Id see him in first class again. He told me he hopes so. Im going to Gotham Comedy Club tonight to try and get some stage time. Until then. Im not putting the paper and pen down. #NeverGiveUp
