Ok so this is my No Make-up Selfie (and Joels) as nominated by - TopicsExpress

Ok so this is my No Make-up Selfie (and Joels) as nominated by Wendy Bradbury - now, Im feeling a little passionate about this tonight - so here is my rant…. First, in relation to the no make-up; I choose to wear make-up on some days and not on others, this is because I dont really care who thinks Im beautiful or not (I also dont equate being made-up as beautiful - to me beauty is the actual person, not what they look like); Second, in our culture women are persuaded that beauty IS what we look like, and I teach women every single day who feel inadequate, ugly and fat because of this - all of which is every bit a factor of our culture, and in no way actually the truth of the situation - I wish that we lived in a culture that celebrated womens strength, courage, feistiness, passion and warmth, than the culture I find myself in; third, because this campaign is actually about breast cancer and not about our stupid self-obsessed culture, I will state for the record, that the women (and men) battling this disease deserve our honest faces staring right back at them - if we can strip back the makeup, the pre tense and get back to what is actually real maybe we have a chance at empathising and hearing their truth (instead of hiding behind our many facades). Ok so finally, I have to nominate someone else: I nominate Erin McLindon , Cattie McLindon and Kimberley White to post a photo of yourself (a selfie) in honour of those who have, will, or are, suffering from Breast Cancer.
