Ok, so today was a pretty good day at work. No customers in a hurry, everyone was working well together, and it was just a good day. So, me and my coworker Antonio were closing up the deli for tonight, taking any last customers and cleaning up for the night. Antonio was finishing up with some customers and I was cleaning one of the remaining slicers, the others had been cleaned and this was one of the last things we needed to do. He finished with them and said I could start on the last one, and I said ok. I dry off the other slicer and then before I start cleaning the last, one of the customers that had been there, called out to me. I walk over and this is the conversation we had. (I censored two of his words because he cursed, so its a little different from what he said exactly :D) Man: How long have you been working here? Me: About two weeks, sir. *Man slaps the counter, looks back at the woman smugly, who I think is his wife before turning back to me* Woman: He heard the other customer ask. Man: No, I didnt. I was telling her that every time Ive seen you here, you have been working your butt(he used the a word) off and have been doing a great job. Me: oh, well, thank you, but Im not great, some customers beg to differ. *Man looks at me confused* Man: who? Me: I dont know who they are, but Ive had a few customers complain about me. Im new and since Im still learning how to do things, the customers see that and report to my manager so they have to talk to me. So yeah, Im still learning. Man: Well, tell them to f&*@ off, because you have been doing a wonderful job. *and with that! he waves and starts to walk off* Me: *laughs slightly* thank you sir, you have a nice night. Some customers have told me that I have been doing a good job, but that conversation tonight made my day and although I am tired and my feet are sore, I am proud to be working. :)
