Ok so yesterday my NCT Teacher (come Student Midwife) tells me If Im really honest with you, despite what youve been told, you probably will be asked to come to hospital if you go into labour on Christmas Day because there wont be enough community midwives on cover. Well be finding out more and if this is true the NHS have an almighty battle coming their way. I have no intention of travelling to hospital when Im in labour and putting myself and my baby through the risk of a potentially prolonged labour not to mention the risk of infection. Then she tries to bully me into believing that if I dont come into hospital when Im told Ill be breaking the law..... WTF!!!! It makes me livid that we live in a word where elective C-sections are carried out to accommodate women with a fear of birth (not judging, everyone is entitled the birth they want) but I cannot be accommodated for my normal (textbook definition) natural birth??!!! and they think they are going to use bully tactics to force me!! It is honestly no surprise that my baby is due around Christmas and might come Christmas day, Ive known for bloody ages and Im dam sure I told you - so sort out your staffing levels!
