Ok so you want to start a D-league like minor league baseball? I havent heard of many neck injuries, torn ACLS etc in the game of baseball. Football is a brutal game and it can end at a moment on the field. So we are going to start taking high school kids and beat them up mentally & physically preparing them for the NFL in a D-league? Most of the kids in D- League football would be beat up long before they get to the NFL and what happens when they dont make it with no education? You go to college to for an education and meet people that might make a difference in your life one day. The college system has its faults and needs to be overhauled but a D-league would destroy the game of football in my estimations. Yah sure Adrian Peterson and a few others are the exception to the rule and are gifted but 95% need college. If your comparing guys running around in shorts playing basketball and play catch your mistaken. Theres a reason you can play baseball till your 40 yrs old and you dont leave the game crippled most of the time! High school football is rough and college is rougher but the game of pro football is brutal. We evaluate over 1,800 kids for every college football season and only 300 kids are drafted and another 400 are free agents! Pretty sure there were 40 free agent rookies that made teams in 2013 and 30% of the drafted players didnt make teams. So your telling me kids are going to give up college to play in a D-league? Who are the D-league teams going to play or are they going to play against each year after year till ready for the NFL? The D-league will become a slaughter house of used & abused athlete physically.
