Ok...this is a little embarrassing, but here is a video of the very first song performed by Ronnie Tsunami and the Wave Riders back in Sept of 2005....this is what started it all after Joanna threw her business card on the desk of a festival coordinator just in case they needed entertainment even though we had no band or equipment...seriously. We were originally called Island Dreamin, which included Ronnie, Joanna, Keilani and Phillip. The band had been created about 6 weeks earlier, with Joanna never having performed in public, begging Kayla to join us 4 weeks later having never played the steel pan (yes, she had 2 weeks to learn how play the steel pan), and then Kayla inviting her then-boyfriend Phillip to join us on congas 3 days before this show...we were scared as hell. This was supposed to be a little side project. We had no idea that 9 years later we would be a 6-piece band playing professionally for people who would actually buy our music and pay us to play for them at their parties. You just never know what life has in store for you....but if I learned anything from this, its that you never close your eyes...you might miss something awesome. Go tsunami-style!
