Ok, this week is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Week. So Im going to share my stories this week about the subject. 1st story. When I was 13 my mother reconnected with her best friend from high school. She and her 2 year old daughter came and visited and we had a wonderful time, the highlight of which was an all day trip to San Francisco. I really looked forward to their visiting again but it wasnt to be. There was a family tragedy that my mothers friend couldnt handle and in response to her grief and depression that follows, she committed suicide. It was a horrible loss for my mother and my relationship with the daughter who lived the other end of the state came to an end with that event. The pain rippled out and touched everyone who knew her. More tomorrow.
