Okay- Im just gonna put it out there- Im pissed...this is a post I made on a wall of one of those mourning shamers - the ones who have decided that people shouldnt mourn someone like Robin Williams but rather someone of THEIR choosing who they think are more worthy of my emotional reaction. heres what I wrote: You know what? I resent the fact that you are telling me who I should feel badly about dying Someone I didnt know, who never touched my life, who I didnt know had passed should touch me MORE than someone that I respected as an artist, who touched my life through his art even though I never met the man... whose work holds memories, and made me smile through some bad times or made me think through social injustices at others - who was genuinely likeable and approachable- based on the stories my friends who met him told me- and I heard several MORE tonight- and looking at his philanthropy, his generosity... raising millions for Comic Relief ... the battles he fought and won against mental illness and addiction...and you say THAT man was NOT a hero? Sorry- I beg to differ. I will miss Robin Williams talent, I will respect his death, made all the more sad by the battle that he lost, when he was winning for many many years. Pray you NEVER experience the darkness that made him take that final step
