Okay. Heres the thing. Im a Manson fan. Have been ever since I heard Beautiful People back in the day. And these are some of my thoughts. Reiterating some of what Manson has talked about. He said in an interview that these christian protesters and their inhospitality are by definition unchristian. I think, especially in his target audience, that kids want to be accepted through understanding and if they were completely honest they would like at least some of that from their parents. And the parents in their disapproval if Manson see only a scary image. And therefore are completely unsupportive and hypocritical in their narrow beliefs including their christian faith. If they ever bothered to listen to what he has to say with an open mind they may not be so quick to judge. I find Mansons intelligence and articulation and non-confronting manner in interviews to speak well for him and not so much with those that oppose him. I dont believe every single thing he says or believes in but I do enjoy listening to him and learning what he is all about. I have a stronger bond with my daughter because I share her like of this musician. We can talk about more controversial subjects because I support her interests and if something makes me uncomfortable I dont shut it down out of ignorance and fear of the unknown. I research and come up with my own answers and share them with her. For example, his so-called belief in Satanism. It seems to me he follows the church of Satan formed by Anton LeVey...not satanism. There is a difference. The former doesnt believe in a Satan; the latter does. To make a long story short, Manson has brought me and my daughter closer and has allowed me to be supportive of most of her likes while she figures out who she is, who she wants to be and what she chooses to believe in.
