Okay, I dislike a ton of anime, but there is one japanese animated series that I love, Ghost in the shell. I saw the movie in middle school, and watched the TV show when ever I got the chance. Late nights at my aunts house (we didnt have cable), Id stay up saturday nights to watch stand alone complex. even though I didnt fully understand it as a kid, I still loved the cyber punk neo noir theme. Like blade runner meets CSI, I loved it. I recently started re watching it (Thank you internet) and I have to say, now that I get its nuances and subtle themes, I appreciate it even more. but The thing I remember most about the show as a kid was the haunting and enchanting theme. Today I read that the woman who sang the main theme from stand alone complex, passed away at 44. This and the terrible upcoming movie are two of the worst things that could happen to a series that deserves so much better.
