Okay, I have not wanted to post this due to my thoughts of keeping things private and trying to handle things behind closed doors. However after waiting a few days shy of 2 months for the return of my money I am left to share this. So for those you who want to or may be interested in purchasing a puppy from C & C Kennels you may want to reconsider. I was to purchase two puppies from Curley Myers of C & C Kennels, a chocolate fawn female and a blue fawn female (Kalani & Kamira). I was first on his list, he made me promise upon promise. I asked him what amount of money did I need to send for deposit for both girls to insure they were mine. I immediately wired the money directly from my account to his. Keeping in mind he was made to sign a contract that I had written up due to some information that was going around about he (Curley Myers) and his dogs. This contract was basing the sale of these two puppies to me under the circumstances that I was to get the pups no matter any situation unless their DNA was not a successful match via AKC. This is a contract he agreed with and signed. I was contacted by a friend whom was told that he had sold pups from a prior litter that were Weimaraner and Great Dane mixed. The person who contacted my friend also supposedly had photos of herself holding these mixed pups in his driveway. In fact she had even dubbed Curley Myers and his wife as Crazy Curley & Con-artist Connie) after having dealt with them while purchasing more than one of these supposed mixed puppies. So given the information, I contacted Curley Myers to let him know this information was going around, I did not supply him with any names as to who was passing the news around. Hence the reason for the contract that I came up with and again he agreed and signed. As I had told him, there was a way to prove other wise, given both parents were DNAd via AKC and the pups as well for a lineage match. Because after all DNA with AKC is all that matters when breeding AKC Great Danes. He immediately promised anything to discredit the stories going around about both he and his puppies. He (Curely Myers) gave me his AKC log in to see that all his prior litters had been AKC registered and that his breeding stock had approved AKC registrations. He gave me the names of 4 or so people who owned his pups from past litters with their contact information for references. Curley Myers had even provided a vets name and phone number as well. I had called several of the references and spoke a bit with them. I had a built up confidence about making the transaction. As I had seen no evidence that these mixed pups had even existed or that any of his stock appeared to be mixed etc... Although one of the contacts he had given me had left a one star rating on his page. I asked her about it and she told me she had sent him money for her dogs papers in which she never received. I figured it was just a misunderstanding and I let him know that I was still very interested in the two girl pups. From there I made the deposit transfer in the amount of $600.00 directly from my account to his; $300.00 for one and $300.00 for the other. This was $300.00 of $2000.00 per pup. I had made all arrangements for my bank to transfer the rest of the money for one pup the day they turned 8 weeks old and the rest would be given cash at pick up. As I was not comfortable traveling with large amounts of cash from North Carolina to Texas alone. After he received the deposit, all seemed well. Then the stories and drama of it all continued. I had decided at that point that I wanted only one pup as the other was for a friend but to remain here and things just simply were not going to work out. This was all information that Curley Myers new in advance. He said that was fine and the he would contribute the complete $600.00 towards the first pup of choice. A few weeks later as everything was on schedule for me to still get my one pup (chocolate fawn - Kalani) I was told the deal was off by he himself (Curley Myers). He sent me a text message asking me to call him as soon as possible, that he needed to talk with me. So I was hesitant at first but then called as I knew there would be bad news. Since I had started putting parts of the puzzle together and finding that things were just not adding up on his behalf. However, I was more than willing to look things over and continue on with getting a pup from Curley. He advised me that he would be keeping the pup that I had originally wanted and had already sold the second pup that I would no longer be procuring a pup from him, period. I asked him why? and he replied that he needed to keep her to carry out his lines due to the recent loss of her Sire. Bruiser, as he had been bitten by a snake. Which I never questioned until I was later told by several other resources that he had died of worms, a hog attack and or a dog attack from his other male (son of Bruiser and sibling from a previous litter to the pup I was to get.) While keeping in mind both the Sire and Dam to these pups were half brother and sister to begin with. So I wasnt fully understanding as to why he would keep both my pup and one he had picked from his own litter to keep back knowing he already had their older brother. Made no sense to me. I tried to be understanding as he had also suffered the loss of his father that same week. He made more promises. Promises that he could keep my money towards the pups from a future litter but it would be 2 years from now. Or that he would refund my money, to just let him know what my decision would be. I decided the wait of 2 years was just to long and that I would simply ask the $600.00 back. He said okay, no big deal that he looked forward to doing future business with me.) And that he may be interested in some future litters that I would have later on down the road. During this time he had also decided that he would take a pup from a current litter I had that was my pick of litter. All in lieu of the pup back deal that would have been owed back. As my pup form him would have been $2000.00 and a pup back from the one or both females had I gotten them or the one. My pick of litter choice was a great one but not exactly what I would have picked had he, Curely Myers not wanted that particular pup. Then he had said he no longer wanted the pup from my pick of litter as he was not going to be able to afford him and return my money as the deal was off... The deal he had broke and had promised to fix. As mentioned above he had agreed to refund me my money ($600.00). I waited and waited with no return. I supplied him with all information to wire, mail or pay via Paypal. Still no money transferred nearly 2 months later. However Curley Myers has replaced his floors in his home, along with many other things. That is fine, I dont care what he does with his money. But I do care what he has done with mine. After chatting with mutual friends I am learning that he is attempting to buy new dogs making offers to buy a pup way over the amount of money he can not afford to pay me back. Seems legit right? No, its not. After I brought the comments to Curley Myers attention about the the new floors etc... He paid me $285.00 of $600.00. To wire the money via Western Union was going to cost him 15$. So as he sent the $300.00 he took that out of the amount he owed me as well. Seems fair enough considering I had waited all this time. None-the-less I am still owed what it is in my opinion $315.00. As I have waited and had been more than patient until now. Just as I had paid him the deposit money in a timely manner I expected him to do the same. With no luck of such thing! Like everyone else, I have things that happen and go on my life as well just as he and everyone else does. Not that $600.00 is a lot to some but it is to me. More than anything the principle is what means most. This is in no way acceptable or anyway to conduct business. As I mentioned before I am writing this to alarm others, you just may want to reconsider as it is in my opinion and many others that he, Curley Myers can not be trusted! My last attempt to ask for the money ended in the following text: Curley, I am left with no choice after this evening. I am going in the morning to the court house to press charges in my county and state where the money owed originated. The case will be heard in Monroe, NC. You will receive a subpoena via your local sheriffs office with a date, time and location. The charges will be in lieu: Federal Trade Commission Act Section 5: Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices. My lawyer has already typed everything up to be submitted. He also has copies of all of our conversations both text and email from all accounts and phone numbers. Along with a copy of the contract you signed and copies of my money wire transfer showing money wired directly from my account to yours. All court cost and expenses will be at your discretion.
