Okay. So whats my 2 cents about this? This is the segment when the news anchors share opinions after an hour of primetime news report. And theyre talking about the possible path of Typhoon Ruby (since several weather agencies cannot reconcile their findings, but still we trust PAG ASA more.) Having this segment risks the shows commitment to unbiased news delivery. Branded many times as best journalists in the entire Philippines, Filipinos look up to these peoples credible inputs on critical (big or small) issues our nation is facing. In news reporting, (based on conventional journalism), use of adjectives are selectively prohibited due to potential subjectivity of the report. They needed to be objective, delivering facts only, with no personal opinion. Sa puntong ito, dahil nga nilagay na lang nila sa end ng show ang opinion segment, kailangan din nating suriin ang mga opinyong inilalatag sa atin. Isang magandang bagay kung maituturing na ang mga taong ito ay mayroon ding nasasabi sa mga ganitong isyu at from there, we can really judge if these people are just plain news reporter or reporters entitled for opinions which might be valuable or not. Hindi natin kailangang imention pa na future first lady or ex vice president sila because it is not the right way to argue. Youre committing argumentum ad hominem and your argument is definitely illogical. Attack the argument not the person. 1. Korina: Sana sa Japan na lang lahat. Korina : a. gets so insensitive. Marami na ring naging trahedya sa Japan kaya mabigat din ang emotional impact nito sa kanila. They are also human. So, why wish the typhoon to take the path going to Japan? b. just wants the best for her country. We sometimes fail to understand someones humor ( because I think, it was intended as a joke that eventually became a bad joke dahil nasensationalize). This is the positive side of it. c. lacks an option. One option is to advise people to pray para malusaw or humina na lang ang bagyo instead. (though sinabi niya namang ipagdasal na lang natin.) d. All of the above. e. None of the above. My answer is C. 2. Korina: Mas kaya naman nila (ng Japan). Korina: a. is considering that her countrys disaster preparedness level is lower than Japan. And she thinks that Japan can handle it better compared to Philippines. Real talk. b. misses the point that Filipinos can do all the preparations for the typhoon. Its just that we are still learning and improving. We cannot be perfect anyway. c. Both. d. None of the two. My answer is A. Dami kong sinabi no? Dami ko ring alam? Sana ikaw din. :)
