Okay..... Steve and I just got a call from our son, Wes that has my heart racing. They may have a potential donor for lungs tonight! We realize this may be a false alarm, but it has been a wake up call to the fact that this could happen ANY day, whether the average wait time is 6-10 months or not! He is supposed to hear back from Hopkins between 7:30 - 8:00 this evening. Whether this turns out to be the real deal or not, we are reminded that even with insurance, this is going to be a costly endeavor. I would ask for a couple of things. First, that if you believe in the power of prayer, that you would be praying for Wes and Jen! We believe that God is in control, but it is still a scary time for both of them. Second, if any of you are great at fundraising, we need help! There is a group that will help with the efforts and set up a fund for Wes, but we need people! Please contact me or Steve if you feel compelled to be involved in this very important endeavor! Well keep everyone posted as we find out details. Again, we were forewarned that there could be many false alarms as far as compatibility of lungs go, but each call needs to be taken seriously. Thanks so much for your past and future support!
