Okay.....a rant is about to happen here so be ware!! Upon looking through my latest Marie claire magazine, I stumbled upon some photographs that made my blood boil. Gaunt and deathly skinny women that honestly look like the verge of death is upon them, representing what we call beauty. Suken eyes, protruding cheek bones, death. Photos such as THESE are the reason why I HATED myself in high school. They are why I tortured my mind and starved my body and eventually tried ending my life. Photos and ideas like these are WHY GIRLS HATE THEIR BODIES!! I am plus size and curvy from head to toe and I have LEARNED to LOVE ME!! I had to LEARN to accept myself as beautiful because society and the influences there of taught me I was not!! The women in the other collage are four of the most beautiful women I have ever met!! (sorry to embarras you ladies) but it is true. Designers, you say you break all the rules and challenge what is normal...then accept this challenge: dont be the normal! Dress REAL sized women and praise REAL sized women. But you wont. Why? Cause you want money and putting women with some chubby doesnt bring in the bucks. You challenge only the opposition you can handle. COWARDS!! I survived my teen years thanks to role models like my mother, sister and best friend. I survived and you can too. Beauty isnt a number. Beauty is a person, a whole person. I am proud that I am a size 14. Rant over. Thank you.
