Okay, after an entire night of trying with the utmost precision (courtesy of Sony Vegas Video) to make the stupid Tool album sync up to the stupid Nightmare Before Christmas Im starting to think its all a bullshit urban legend and was never REALLY designed to do that. And that the only reason I ever thought it worked back in high school when me and Jeff Mclean tried is because we wanted so badly to believe it was true that we saw exactly what we were hoping to see when we finally did try. Sorry Nick Drenner, I hate to disappoint but I sure as hell tried =p Seriously though, I coulda SWORN there was at least one attempt where we got the start of the CD to hit JUST RIGHT and cause all the clips of characters moving their mouths to align perfectly with the all the lyrics, so that there were no clips of characters singing that didnt sync with some part of the lyrics, even if there were lyrics that didnt have characters on the screen singing them. But Ive tried EVERY imaginable combination of positioning the lyrics to the imagery and NO MATTER WHAT there is ALWAYS some part where the lyrics of the song die off despite a character popping up and moving its mouth with seemingly nothing coming out -__- Im guessing in reality both songs merely use the same time signature, and this was all just a bullshit rumor started by some stoner who happened to have the two going simultaneously one day when he hit play on the Tool album shortly after popping in the movie. So he just happened to notice the timing of the imagery during the musical number the movie opens on lined up unusually well as a result, and he convinced himself inside his own fanboy head that Tool was also super into his favorite movie, and intentionally wrote the album to sync up with it. Then in typical burnout fashion he went around spreading this rumor as his own preferred version of reality to anyone who was equally perma-fried enough to take his word for it x[ lol
