Okay all Bland descendants, this Save The Date announcement will soon be posted on the Bland Heritage Foundation website--along with registration forms and tour schedules as soon as weve finalized those. But dont wait for those before making your travel plans. We likely will have an Historic Jamestowne tour-- where our James River Blands grandfather John Bland the Grocer (aka merchant) had a waterfront warehouse and his son and daughter-in-law Theodorick Bland of Westover and Anna Bennett Bland had a townhouse--on Thursday morning, a tour of the James River plantations where they lived on Friday all day, and a tour of Colonial Williamsburg on Saturday morning, and the talk about Jordans Point archaeology on Saturday afternoon. We will be buying tickets for Colonial Williamsburg for 1/2 a day--not a full day--so that pricing is different. We will be talking about history relating to all Bland Groups out of Colonial Virginia as well as collateral families who intermarried with all three Bland Groups, like the Randolphs, the Cockes, the Bacons, the Bollings, and others. If you belong to one of these, youre welcome to join us too! If you wish to stay longer to other sites, please coordinate with us because others may be planning the same!
