Okay call me a Bitter Grumpy Cranky old elitist, but blind I am not! I have seen what is going on and I have warned people on how bad things are getting and will get. Its all fine and dandy, and we all know there has always been a a sort of divide spoken and unspoken but there is also the flipside. In 2001 one of the rare times I took a cab, I drove with a cab driver in Abdoun and he had the gall to proclaim We are going to come and break down these houses brick by brick and line them (the people living in them) up against the wall and shoot them .To which I replied O really, instead of showing your 7asad because this is what it is, how about you work harder save more and have an ambition to live in a house like that one day and work for it. Some people (like my parents) worked hard to live in a house like that That shut him up real quick. Yes we have the entitled spoilt brats running around being silly. But we also have the small minded, envious, jealous wastrels who feel they are entitled to things without working for them (and that is across all strata of society). And to answer a question they are not blind, a lot are oblivious, because they have no idea how bad the poverty is, they live comfortably and obliviously in their bubble wrapped universe thinking everythin is fine. Sad-but-truism....
