Okay guys, I just spent 3 hours on the phone with the NY healthcare line and livetweeted the experience (@pkhakpour). Hard deadline is this Monday at midnight (NY has not approved the federal extension yet). I will have health insurance starting May 1. Silver plan, $76 a month, Health Republic, $11 a month supplemental dental, no deductibles. Some things might cost $75 a visit at worst; ER $200 but urgent care $100. This chart helped me while on phone but I basically did it with no research at all huffingtonpost/2014/01/27/health-insurance-obamacare_n_4661164.html and the people on their phone lines are amazing and kind and helpful. I most likely qualified for Medicaid (got pending status) but in end providing all the paperwork they need and all that looked more awful and impossible. Anyway, I think this is a good thing.
