Okay, heres a question for our older runner/woggers: What is the way to avoid sore muscles the day after a half? Do I need to run more often between halves to get my muscles used to the strain? Here are the things I do DO before a race to minimize my soreness: two anti-inflammatories, compression leg sleeves, pain gel for my IT band and knees, and, of course, stretches. But I STILL have soreness issues. I do a LOT of races in a year and Im in my 60s so Im hoping to hear from the older generation of athletes to find some way to bounce back sooner.
