Okay, if in fact the young man did point a gun at the police officer, then yeah, its a legitimate shooting. But there are two glaring questions here. 1. Why did he stop them in the first place? The security footage from the store doesnt show them doing anything but walking across the parking lot when the officer approached them. What was he after? 2. This: The police officer had been assigned a body camera but wasnt wearing it at the time of the incident, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said in a news conference Wednesday morning. Whats the point of making them have the cameras if they dont wear them, can turn them off whenever they please, and otherwise find ways around the accountability that camera is supposed to bring? At the very least he needs to be disciplined for that, because if he had been wearing the camera, there would be a lot fewer questions about what happened. If were going to go the body camera route, we have GOT to start holding them responsible to USE the damn things.
