Okay, its moved past Midnight and therefore into the morning of Saturday, October 25th, 2014, and so 50 years ago today in Swinging 60s history, according to Billboard Magazines HOT 100 charts the Motown vocal group consisting of Diana Ross, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson other wise known as The Supremes had their second #1 song in the states. The Supremes had the distinction of being the first American artist and the only one except for The Beatles since the Fab Four started British Invasion of the U.S. charts, back in February 1964, to have more than one #1 song on the charts. Written by Holland-Dozier-Holland, Baby Love by The Supremes would spend four weeks at #1 from October 25th to November 21st, 1964. This would make The Supremes Baby Love the #1 song on the 1964 election day, as well as the #1 song on my first birthday on November 8th, 1964. Below the image of the 45 rpm record sleeve is a video of The Supremes performance of Baby Love on ABC-TVs Shindig?, to me the best live performance of this song to be found -- even if it is a bit speeded up:
