Okay.... judging by the comments in the previous post...cute, tiny, adorable... I think maybe I need to point out the announcement part of this picture for ya. ;) As you may know - the very reason that Ruby is with us - is because of a genetic abnormality - having been born with no hip sockets - and no knee joints. If you recall from Rubys previous photos and video.... BOTH of Rubys hind legs were completely fused in an outstretched position - with no flexibility at all. Her condition was so severe, that the only option for her, was to move forward with a bilateral amputation (removal of both of her rear legs at the hips). As you can clearly see here.... enduring weeks of extremely intensive therapy, multiple times daily - has given Ruby the ability to be FULLY FUNCTIONAL with the right rear leg!!! (I thought youd notice right away that she can bend it!) LOL What this means - is that while there has been no improvement with the left leg - and it is still a useless, painful limb for her.... she WILL NOT LOSE BOTH LEGS!! Amputation of the rear right leg is still an absolute - but Ruby will do SO much better with three legs - than with two! ♥
