Okay, now I want to see if anyone really reads my posts. Ive been studying Ralph Waldo Emmersons essay on Self-Reliance. Theres a part where he says that if a celebrity goes to his house to visit him, he thinks that he, (Emmerson) shouldnt have to go out of the way to please the celebrity, but that the celebrity should go out of the way to please him. This is all to do with self-worth, and Emmerson thinks hes worth pleasing by the celebrity. Well, I was just listening to my PBS station, UNC TV, and they showed Josh Groban Live at Lincoln Center. Now those of you know me, know that I have had a bit of a - um hot spot - for Josh since I first heard him singing - yes I know, Im old enough to be his mother - not that hot! Anyway - Hes awesome, but PBS wanted us to pay $500.00, and as a thank you gift, one would get a pair of meet and greets at a concert when Josh is coming to Carey North Carolina. Well, I wonder if he would pay $500.00 just to shake someones hand, and then have that person move along in the line. I think for that $500.00, I should be able to have a really long chat! I know its supposed to be a donation - but really! And who would pay $75.00 for a CD with 12 tracks on it, when you can get it from iTunes for $11.00, or amazon. I bought All That Echoes, Joshs CD which was featured in this PBS concert, the day it was released, from iTunes, but I sure wouldnt have paid $75.00 for it, and then to be sent a magazine each month which is in print so cant read it (they really ought to put it in braille) and whatever junk comes along with it! Nope. So, I wonder if anyone would pay that kind of money to talk to me? Nah, didnt think sođ
