Okay, so apparently Im supposed to make a list of 14 things that you people probably dont know about me because I liked my moms list. Thanks for picking such a small number, Mom. (Oh, and feel free to like this status with impunity, I wont throw numbers at you unless you ask for one.) 1. Ive seen every episode of Battlestar Galactica. No, not the new one. The one from the 70s. 2. There is exactly one book-to-movie adaptation film that I actually prefer over the book: Its Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. Good book, great movie. 3. As nerdy as I am, I had never owned a handheld gaming system or played any of the Pokémon games until a week ago. Thankfully thats all behind me now. 4. When I was 7, my favorite toy was a yellow rubber Tamagotchi figurine from McDonalds. I played with it for hours on end until we lost it in the move, which may have been the saddest discovery of my life up to that point. 5. The first book I ever read for myself was The Wolfs Chicken Stew by Keiko Kasza. I still highly recommend it. 6. I owned a skateboard for about one year. I rode it maybe three times, which mostly involved pushing off, wobbling for a few yards, and falling off. Eventually I realized it would be more fun to throw it around and jump on it until it broke, which I did. 7. At one point Jonathan and I were playing with that skateboard in the church parking lot and these two guys in a white car pulled off the road to make fun of us. We were maybe 11 or 12 and I was sure they were going to run us over. It was terrifying. 8. When I was 8 years old or so I was so scared of the grasshoppers in A Bugs Life that I would literally run from the room every time they appeared and listen from a distance until I was sure they were gone. 9. When I was a kid I used to despise jeans and I would pretty much only ever wear sweatpants. Thankfully the inverse is now true. 10. I have toyed with the idea of writing spoken word but have yet to attempt it. 11. I have not just toyed with the idea of writing fanfic, I have actually attempted it, but the likelihood of anyone besides me ever reading it is not terribly high. 12. Im terrible at screenwriting, but if I were ever to write a screenplay I would definitely adapt Taggerung by Brian Jacques because the way he ended it in the book was terrible and I have ideas for how it could be awesome. Yes, Ive thought about this a lot. 13. I adore real life, but I do wish the world was more like video games in one respect: in Animal Crossing I can spend an hour fishing on a tropical island resort, bring my fish back to the local flea market and pay off my home loan with the resulting profit. So that would be nice. 14. It took me nearly an hour to come up with this list, and Ive been trying to think of a 14th item for at least five minutes now. Cop out? Maybe. But the point is Im finally done.
