Okay....(wading bravely into the murk here)... I have a bit question. And yes, I am looking for suggestions/insight. Phig needs a new bit. Right now we are using a full cheek snaffle, because the full cheek was the only 4.5 bit in the barn. She doesnt need the full cheek. Our local tack shops have nothing in stock in a 4.5 (except for a copper snaffle eggbutt with large rings --but it seems like a really heavy chunk of metal for her small head) so I need to order her a new bit. The guy Im working with sorta doesnt get worried about bits, uses a basic eggbutt or d-ring snaffle across the board, so hes next to useless for advice on the topic. Phig is light and responsive to cues, doesnt bolt, doesnt head toss. Does more or less constantly mouth the current bit, doesnt stick her tongue over. And she seems to either have been trained to really collect or maybe be avoiding some currently. She was previously ridden/trained in a basic dring copper snaffle. Look for something light, basic, intelligent (for lack on a better word). No way I would trust to post this anywhere but here... Thanks in advance!
