The threatened closure of more music venues due to the encroachment of residential properties too close to them, is not only unfair to music performers, audiences and residents, it also threatens to kill off the livelihoods of musicians, music teachers, venue owners and the aspirations of the young generations of music students. Local venues play an important role in allowing aspiring musicians to gain experience in live performance not otherwise available to them.
