Old reliable Mario West is returning to the PBA to reinforce the Meralco Bolts anew, coach Ryan Gregorio confirmed to InterAKTV in a text message. According to Gregorio, West will arrive on Thursday. The NBA veteran was called back to duty to backstop the Bolts after the team’s first choice, DJ Kennedy, failed to make the height limit of 6-foot-5. The PBA measured Kennedy twice and in both tries, the import exceeded the limit. He was measured 6-foot-5 1/2 the first time and 6-foot-5 1/4 the second time. Last season, West helped the Bolts to the semifinals of the Governors’ Cup, averaging 30.1 points and 7.8 rebounds in 11 games. West last played in Liga Americas for Fuerza Regia, averaging 13.5 points and four assists. hotshot
