Olejeme urges more attention for widows, orphans, others Prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme weekend urged politicians and corporate executives to pay attention to the concerns of widows, orphans and elderly. Speaking in Asaba after visiting St Barnabas Anglican Orphanage/ Motherless Babies Home, Madam Davies Buwa Memorial Home, St Anthony’s Orphanage, Pro Labore Dei(In Aid of Destitute) and Shepherd Care Orphanage, Olejeme criticized some Nigerians over their attitude to the plight of the less privileged, disabled and widows in the country. She appealed to prominent Nigerians to help these categories of people. “What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility- recognition on the part of politicians and business executives in Nigeria that we have duties to the orphans, widows, elderly and disabled. We must lift them out of poverty. We must instill an ethic of achievement in the children. We must give the widows the resources they need to succeed. We must provide love and guidance” she said. Known to be very generous to all, Olejeme promised to continue to promote quality life for the down trodden. “I do not propose to say many words today. Today is my birthday. God has blessed me and I must share with humanity these many blessings of God. They need a lot to ameliorate the plight of these kids”. Olejeme, a powerful inspirer in the struggle to humanize the planet earth, urged those in charge of orphanage to become more awake to the complexities of the social dynamics of Nigeria while guiding the lives of those with them. “You must take on the added task of educating the young ones; you must inspire; you must lead, you must instill a thirst for learning. Olejeme urged Nigerians to dedicate themselves to deep family lives and harmony. “I call on parents to rededicate themselves to the deepening of the spiritual welfare of their children” She paid tributes to President Goodluck Jonathan for building a just and humane nation, where its people have a fair chance to attain their fullest potential. She also commended Jonathan for keeping Nigeria united, appealing to Boko Haram to stop all violent activities. The Ngozi Juliet Olejeme Foundation is a philanthropic platform, which Dr. Ngozi Olejeme is using to institutionalize her community and human development gestures. The foundation donated items ranging from foodstuffs, beverages, toiletries, vegetable oil, bags of rice and cash among other items.
