On December 6, 2014 Adam Levine and his band decided to mess with a bunch of happy couples on their special day to film their latest music video for “Sugar.” “We’re gonna drive across L.A. and hit every wedding we possibly can,” says Levine, whose plan was to rush in and quickly setup a surprise performance at weddings around the city. This wedding crasher video was directed by David Dobkin who also did “The Wedding Crashers” movie back in 2005. Dobkin wanted it to be a complete surprise, he told VH1, but realistically they had to tell at least one person, so he chose the grooms and wedding planners. It took them abouta month to set everything up, and the grooms were initially worried that the brides might get upset (they look far from upset in the video). Levine then offered to perform an acoustic version of “She Will Be Loved” for their first dance to make it up to any angry bridezillas.
