Omotolaaraujo also on Dangote`s proposed refinery I hear - TopicsExpress

Omotolaaraujo also on Dangote`s proposed refinery I hear Dangote’s praises and he is respected and obviously very wealthy. His businesses certainly create employment. My problem is that I see no competition in the market place. The wealth is held by few and business is not being supported by the banks, or the government. One man with so much wealth and influence will not improve the country by much. Small business is the key to the economy and I worry about the lack of anti-trust laws. I repeatedly remark on the price of a basic staple as chicken. The price of food in Nigeria is a disgrace to a country so poor. Food is at a premium price and until recently, there has been so little progress made to improve food production on a national level. Any fool can see that small farms and low interest loans for small businesses will drive the price of food down, but there is little incentive to feed the working poor, not to mention the starving poor. In the US you can buy a dozen eggs for $1.39 USD, 3 pounds of rice for $1.39, a 4 pound bad of sugar for $1.79, $1.99 for a gallon of milk, and a chicken at .89/pound. Nigerians pay many times as much for food that can easily be produced locally. Leadership is to blame and they must be eliminated for their lack of responsibility.
