On 19th December 2014 Progresif Cellular signed an agreement with long time network partner Huawei Technologies. The signing of contract kicked off a network development project to drastically improve coverage and signal a strength as well as data speed and capacity. Progresif CEO Paul Hyde stated that “customers should start seeing significant incremental improvements in the network as early as January, and re-building network is just the beginning.” Mr.Ang Han Kee , Head of Technical Project’s, commented “The Network development project will mean the completion of 45 sites which had been placed on hold during the insolvency of BMobile, along with new construction of an additional 31 sites which will drastically improve coverage. The second and third phase will mean a replacement of the network core and further upgrades which will help improve quality of service, increase data speeds and clear network congestion allowing a better calling and internet experience”. Before the takeover of the business in June, the company had experienced lack of leadership and a lack of needed financial investment. The newly appointed HR manager, Mr. Mohamed Mosdaram said, “The recruiting and appointment of a senior management team was completed in October which has helped to organize the business and develop a multi-year business plan that sets out to build a new network, culture and bespoke brand for Brunei.” Mr. Mosdaram continued, “We are growing the team, in fact four more Bruneian front line staff were recruited this week alone, and we will be investing heavily in knowledge transfer and training, with a percentage of our profits dedicated to ongoing education for our staff.” During the signing of contact Progresifs Chairman Mr.Abu Bakar , commented, “At this stage it’s fair to say that this is only the beginning, but we think we’re off to a very good start, this is reflected in an early but noticeable growth in our customer base and increasing usage of the network by existing customers; we look forward to sharing more news in the coming months and with the new network deployed, rewarding our loyal customers with the service they deserve and welcoming many new customers to an innovative operator that will become the bench mark for quality in Brunei.”
