On 2nd October, Durham Lions President Alvan Bailey and Lion George ODonnell visited the ladies at The Ushaw Moor Catholic Club, watching their team competing against the British Legion Club team. Both teams will soon be taking part in the Durham Lions Annual Tops in Twenties Sponsored Darts Competition. The first photo shows the home team and the second one, the British Legion Club team. The third photo shows, from left to right, Kay Argument, Lion George and Val Bone. Kay and Val were members of the British Legion team, 35 years ago they were members of the Three Tuns, Brandon, team, who were the very first winners of the Tops in Twenties Charity Shield. The final black and white photo shows the Three Tuns team of 35 years ago with Val and Kay, second and third respectively from right; the young chap on the left is Lion Peter Oakley, who was Durham Lions Club President at the time.
