On Being a Rescue. FRR has been around for less than a year, - TopicsExpress

On Being a Rescue. FRR has been around for less than a year, and weve come a long way. In just the last three weeks we have adopted out 17 dogs and one horse. We continue to excel at rehabilitation of injured/traumatized dogs, and are the only rescue that El Paso Animal Control/Humane Society will release such dogs to. We continue our strong affiliation with Button Brand Paws of Hope and our exceptional veterinarian, Dr. Marvin Hays. As an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and graduate of the US Air Force Academy, I maintain the highest ethical standards in my personal and professional life. Because of the nature of this business, it is important that I am accountable to persons/agencies outside of our organization. I owe that to our donors, our volunteers, our fosters, and to our dogs. We seek to be the finest rescue in the region. In that vein, I hold FRR accountable to Dr. Marvin Hayes and Otero County Animal Control. Dr. Hays vets all of our dogs. We have saved some dogs that were in pretty bad shape. Disneys leg had to be amputated. Nagas leg was broken in several places, but survived his cast and is growing normally. Augie spent two weeks getting some very exotic parasites out of his system. (The list goes on and on...) We trust Doc Hays, and are lucky to have such a talented vet in our area. We have gotten to know many of the Otero County and Alamogordo Animal Control folks over the past year. We recently received Otero County Animal Controls highest praise (10 out of 10--The best rescue facility theyve ever seen). In addition, the New Mexico Brand Inspector for our area has relied on us to rehabilitate impounded horses. I continue to help traumatized dogs work thru their issues so that they will be ready for adoption. Young Luke von Stupf (pictured with me, smiling) is 4 months old and recovering from neglect and abuse. He was fearful, barked at everything, and was timid and shy--he was feral. Today he is a much more well-adjusted puppy. He is happy, friendly, and learning obedience. He gets along well with other dogs, and is back on track for his age. In addition, his breeding is exceptional, and whoever adopts him is going to get a steal. This is what we do. I was prepared for the abuse that other people did to dogs, but I was not prepared for the sick people who seek to abuse good people and good rescue organizations. We have become the most recent target for the abuse by several individuals who are local and out of state. They have a well-established pattern: being friendly and asking rescues to deliver dogs on their behalf, and later trying to extort money from the rescue under threat of having the rescue publicly discredited. I dont deal with blackmailers. Many of you have been personally contacted or have read public posts attacking Fouchard Ranch and Rescue. Some posts have personally attacked my wife, Janine, who works tirelessly on behalf of these dogs. Members of my family have been IMd with character assassinations of me, which were laughable. Nice try, but you bore me. I only deal with ethical and professional people. If you want to buy in to this garbage, please un-like and unfollow this page. Were too busy doing our mission. We just adopted out our 18th dog (in the past three weeks!) this evening. To our critics: How many dogs have you adopted out in the last three weeks? ZERO. --Bart Fouchard
