On Childrens Grief Awareness Day last night we took a few moments - TopicsExpress

On Childrens Grief Awareness Day last night we took a few moments to interview Billy who has been on his grief journey for about 9 years. Although to some people nine years seems like a long time, but to a child whose parent has died their grief journey never ends. It does get easier, but grieving is a lifelong process. Billy most recently decided he had the coping skills that he needs to live a healthy lifestyle. We never put a time limit on somebodys grief journey, they are allowed to stay at Billys Place until they feel they are ready to move on. The child ends his stay at Billys Place with a rock ceremony. They are welcomed back anytime on the 4th Monday of the month which is a Kicking Back Support Group night. Children can re grieve the death of their special person at anytime. We like to leave a open door policy one night a month should they feel they need support on their journey. When we asked Billy if his time at Billys Place was helpful this was his answer. . . #billysplace #CGADHOPE
