On December 23rd we posted about yet another large dog fighting ring bust that happened in Baltimore MD. In that post we stated that dog fighting is EVERYWHERE being done by ALL kinds of people in all tax brackets, all ethnicities and in all communities. We mentioned veterinarians as some who have been charged and convicted of dog fighting and many had a hard time believing that. While it is difficult to fathom how an educated or well off person would choose to fight a dog or how anyone could fight a dog for that matter, the fact is it is a massive epidemic in our country and it is being done by ALL kinds every single day. It is time people start taking dog fighting extremely serious because FACTUALLY, people who fight dogs are dangerous and make our communities unsafe. It is not a cultural thing. It is a CHOICE. It is illegal, extremely violent and involves the torture and murder of innocent helpless lives. And where there is dog fighting, there is always other crime. For those who dont believe its happening and for those who dont realize its people, men and women, from all walks of life, its time to wake up. In addition, the majority of dogs who are victimized by these horrors are Pitbull type dogs yet our society deems them dangerous. FACTUALLY, there is nothing more dangerous than a human being. If you suspect abuse, neglect or dog fighting report it immediately to 1-877-TIP-HSUS. Report it to your local authorities and do not stop until something happens. Let local media know.
