On Friday afternoon, having missed lunch, went to find a cafe that was still open after 4.00m. Eventually ended up at MARMADUKES opposite the catholic cathedral in Sheffield where they offered me a ham sandwhich. After informing them that I was a vegetarian, they then offered me an egg Benedict wth two of their salads. I accepted the egg benedict but not liking vinegar asked for a simple green salad. I also ordered a coffee. I was charged £9.50 pence. 10 mins later a pretty but tepid coffee arrived, 15 mins after this two halfs of the tiniest muffin I have ever seen arrived topped with equally small eggs and a splodge of spinach. No salad I was taken aback and should have complained but was rather tired, though later was annoyed with myself for letting myself be ripped off. Earlier in the week I had had an egg Benedict at a different cafe, with large muffins large eggs and a green salad and new potatoes and £2 cheaper. When relating my experiece later to Michelle my wife, she told me that she had been to MARMADUKES recently and not being vegetarian had ordered a sausage sandwhich. When they brought her a bacon sandwhich she complkained that that was not what she had ordered but instead of apologising and changing the order tried to insist that she take the bacon sandwhich. Fortunately two of their customers had heard Michelle order and intervened fcorcing them to back down. What sort of service is this?
