On January 20, the New York Times broke the story of the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center in Nebraska, which is tormenting animals — with more than $22 million of YOUR tax dollars for 2014. At this lab, workers without medical or veterinary degrees are chopping open animals, “sometimes doing two or more major surgical operations on the same animal.” And to repeat: Not a single one of these workers has a medical or veterinary degree. The facts and eyewitness accounts uncovered by the Times are gut-wrenching. In just one particularly gruesome experiment recounted from the Times story, a teenage cow had her “head locked in a cagelike device to keep her immobile.” She was raped by as many as six bulls for hours, until her back legs were broken and her body was torn apart, and she died. Take action NOW by sending a message to your members of Congress - PLEASE! It will only take a moment of your time, but can change the lives of these animals! https://secure2.convio.net/fsi/site/Advocacy;jsessionid=16D4B61131EBF97DEE1C15EF5451E8E6.app273a?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=483
