On January 21, 2015 at approximately 0430 Officers were dispatched to 800 block of S. Circle Dr. to respond to a domestic disturbance. Officer made contact with a male and female inside an apartment, but both refused to answer to door. Officers were able to get female to come out but the male refused to exit the apartment. Investigations revealed that the male had one felony warrant and two domestic violence warrants. He was ordered numerous times to come out and still refused. Officer Kelly and canine Broc responded to the scene and the suspect was given instructions to exit the apartment by the Officer Kelly. Canine Broc was deployed and the suspect was located hiding in a closet. Canine Broc contacted the suspect and during the arrest the suspect bit Officer Kelly on the hand. The suspect was charged with Second Degree Assault, Obstruction, Resisting Arrest and Possession of Scheduled II. He was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officer Kelly and canine Broc are O.K. and returned to duty.
