On May 10, 1935, CFD Lt. John Patrick Walsh, Truck 39, died in the line of duty when he responded to a fire at 1503 W. Harrison. Walsh was knocking on the doors of nearby buildings to alert occupants about the fire when he was accidently shot by a resident who thought he was an intruder. Lt. Walsh was survived by his widow and five children, one of whom was less than two weeks old at the time of his death. On May 10, 1982, CFD FF Theodore E. Waliczek, Truck 54, died in the line of the duty from a heart attack at a 2-11 Alarm Fire, 6211 S. Cicero. Lt. Waliczek was survived by his widow and three children. 3 3 5 Never Forgotten-Rest in Peace
