On Monday my mom Ramrajie Joseph was undergoing a lumpectomy and was to take a couple lymph nodes at Mount Hope General Hospital. However, her blood pressure dropped very low and heart was failing. She had a heart attack on the operation table so they had to stop before they could take the lymph nodes and bring her out of it. What was to be, a routine operation turned out to be much more. On Wednesday, her blood count dropped to 6 (a normal blood count should be around 12 to 14) and it was discovered she was bleeding as medication they were giving to treat the heart was also thinning her blood. She was rushed into surgery for a second time to stop the bleeding and to relieve stress on the heart as her blood pressure was low 40 over 21. Currently she is in ICU and is in need of blood. The Doctors asked that she get as many donors she can. She is in critical condition and is supported by machines. Her blood count even after receiving blood is at level 5. To donate blood, you can visit any blood bank closest to you. Give her name and the hospital she is located.
