On Monday, researchers at Maastrich University in the Netherlands unveiled the world’s first test-tube hamburger. Creation of the 5-ounce patty was funded by Google co-founder Sergey Brin and cost $66,000 an ounce. Whole Foods announced it would begin carrying the meat as soon it becomes more prohibitively expensive. Not to be out rich-guyed, on Tuesday Amazon founder Jeff Bezos purchased The Washington Post for 250 million dollars in cash. Insiders say the original offer was $249 million, but the Washington Post didn’t have change. In a press release later that day, Bezos assured employees that there will be no lay-offs in the near term, but in an effort to return the struggling paper to profitability it will be re-named The Medieval Times and turned into a family dinner theater. Audience members will randomly be assigned to Team Woodward or Bernstein, all staff meetings will be sung in the style of a Gilbert and Sullivan opera, and every 15 minutes a pay wall will pop up and ask for more money. #WeekendUpdate
