On November 9th, Trinity held a food drive for the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County. In all, the members of Trinity collected 1486 pounds of food, $232.75, and a $10 gift card! Below are some pictures from the event. All of this will go to help the citizens of Morris County. As you may or may not know, there is a huge gap between the federal poverty line and the livability line in Morris County. While the poverty line for a family of 4 in 2014 is $23,850, for that family to live in New Jersey at the poverty level would be closer to $60,000, (Legal Services of New Jersey, The Real Cost of Living in New Jersey, 2013). Due to this large gap, many families are unable to meet the basic needs of their family, but earn too much to qualify for Federal assistance. This is where the Interfaith Food Pantry comes in to help. Not only do they provide food for such people, but they are connected with many other groups and organizations that can help these people with all sorts of needs in life: housing, transportation, education, and so on. Trinity supports the Interfaith Food Pantrys efforts out of love and thanksgiving for the forgiveness our Savior Jesus Christ gives to us all by his death and resurrection and to help provide for people in need on a larger scale than we could on our own. Please keep the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County in your prayers, that the Lord would provide for the people of Morris County through their hands in such a measure that is according to His good and gracious will. To learn more about the Interfaith Food Pantry or how you can help, talk with Ryan Evanko, Pastor Behm, or visit mcifp.org Thank you to Foodtown in Denville, Kings in Florham Park, and Acme in Morris Plains for allowing us to collect the food at their stores. Thank you to Ed & Arline Amaducci, Pastor Behm, Sue Hofmeister, Paul & Mary Justl, Cynthia Miller, George & Rachel Nelson, Linda Peterson, Bert & Anita Rades, and Eric Vage for helping collect the donations. Lastly, a special word of thanks to Ryan & Patty Evanko for organizing, coordinating, and photographing this event!
