On Saturday 4 Oct, I received a call from my friend Emmerson Attig; he wanted to let me know that he was being taken off dialysis and being put in the care of Hospice. He told me that he was at peace and ready to go on to Heaven. Sunday, I drove down to Brunswick Ga. and was able to spend all day Monday and part of Tuesday with Emmerson and his family. We read Revelation Chapters 21 and 22, I also read passages from Randy Alcon’s book “Heaven”, and we talked about the wonders of God Grace and all the unimaginable goodness that was waiting for him when he passes from this earth on to Heaven. Just imagine, closing your eyes here on earth for the final time, then opening them to the wonders, glory, and majesty of God’s Kingdom. It will be awesome and beyond our capability to fathom what beauty Emmerson will behold when he returns Home. I was blessed to be a part of Emmerson’s baptism and Christian re-birth, a few years back in Lake Jordan, and now God blessed me with the opportunity to be with Emmerson as he started his final leg of the journey to his new life in Heaven. Emmerson’s family is with him, and you can feel the love his wife Sandy and his children have for him. While I was with him, he and his family shared some of his life stories. Pictures of the handsome young man answered any questions I might have had about what Sandy saw in this cantankerous old man, those many years ago. I also learned that he was not only a father and grandfather, but he is also a great-grandfather, and a great-great grandfather. I know Emmerson is going to Heaven because accepted Christ into his heart and he believes that Jesus Christ died for his sins and by the Grace of God, Emmerson will be welcomed in God’s Kingdom to await the arrival of the 2nd coming and the New Heaven and New Earth. Now I have a request for all my Facebook friends, and their friends, and their friends-friends. Please take a minute of your time sometime today or tomorrow and pray for Emmerson and his family. Pray as a celebration not sorrow, because Heaven is waiting for him. He will no longer have pain or illness, and will be given a healthy body. So please offer this prayer. “Dear Father God accept Emmerson’s hand, lead him through the pearly Gates of your Kingdom and provide the reward guaranteed to him by his acceptance of the Grace given to him through the life, suffering and death of your Son, Jesus Christ.” In advance, thank you to all that will pray for Emmerson and his family.
