On Saturday, May 10, the Girls on the Run team held their practice 5K in downtown Weston on the Bluff trail. The 19 girls did an amazing job finishing their first 5K. Many people came out to volunteer and lend support to the girls. West Platte staff and high school STUCO were there helping in multiple ways. The service project for our team was to collect canned goods for United Services. Each girl collected pledges for cans per mile ran over the season. We were excited to fill the back of an SUV with food! Wish the girls luck next Sunday morning when they go to Overland Park to join over a thousand other girls in the end of season 5K. Way to go girls!
