On Saturday morning, the G-AHS track and field team joined with other local organizations to collect food for the local food pantry. After handing out flyers to Augusta residents the week before, the team split into groups this past weekend to collect the donations. It was an efficient and successful process as each group drove the streets of a different area of Augusta to pick up food that had been left by residents mailboxes. The team then delivered the food, which will be staying in the community to help those in need. While the track team completed this process in Augusta, the boy scouts did the same in Galesburg. It was great seeing the track team give back to the community that supports it, while spending time together on a sunny May morning. This is a well-rounded group of student-athletes that represents our school with pride and a positive outlook. Thank you to our team members for sacrificing your Saturday morning to serve the community! WAY TO GO!!!
