On Sunday morning, before the praise team performed the song - TopicsExpress

On Sunday morning, before the praise team performed the song Hosanna, singer Kirsten Comfort shared with us that she had listened to the song many times. Then, one day, she took the time to listen to the words and let those words speak directly to her heart. Isnt that amazing? How many times do we listen to a song before we finally take the lyrics to our hearts? Perhaps we are so focused on the melody, the beat, or the sound of the instruments that we truly lose sight of what the words of the song are trying to say to us. It just happened to me on Monday night. I was listening to a song, and I stopped for a moment, smiled, and thanked both Kirsten and God for reminding me to listen to the message...the words...of a song. The song was You Love Me Anyway by the group Sidewalk Prophets, and Id like to share just a few of the lyrics with you now: But you love me anyway Its like nothing in life that Ive ever known You love me anyway Oh Lord, how You love me I am the thorn in Your crown but You love me anyway I am the sweat from your brow But You love me anyway I am the nail in your wrist But you love me anyway I am Judas kiss But you love me anyway See now, I am the man that called out from the crowd For You blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground Yes then, I turned away with a smile on my face With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace And then alone in the night, I still called out for You So ashamed of my life, my life, my life But you LOVE me anyway Oh God...how you love me Wow! How amazing it is that God can speak to us not only from His word, the Bible, but from people and song lyrics, too! Friends, my prayer for you, today and everyday, is that you listen to the Lord no matter how He tries communicating with you...whether its through the Bible, another book, a person, or even through song lyrics...the Lord wants to talk to you and have a personal relationship with you. Please...please listen for His voice. Shhh...be quiet for a moment. Can you hear that? Its the Lord...and Hes talking to you. Remember, no matter what weve done in our past, no matter how poorly weve treated others or if weve turned our backs on God, He loves us anyway! Now its time for US to love him back in return! Amen. ~John Lloyd~ (Note: Song lyrics are courtesy of the band Sidewalk Prophets website: sidewalkprophets).
